– Mobile DVR
Introduction
A California based company focuses on digital recording
technology, has been providing mobile DVR products since
1998. The objective of this project is to develop a new
mobile DVR product with more functionality and in more compact
size.
Comparing to traditional video tape recording, mobile DVR
would offer better picture quality, longer recording time,
ease of editing and reviewing, real-time transmission, and
nicer user interface. In addition, mobile DVR are widely
used in monitoring systems on first response vehicles, such
as police, military, and ambulance; also in the surveillance
systems on transportation system such as bus, taxi, fleet,
and subway.
System Requirements
- Support Pentium M CPU, Windows XP Embedded, 2 GB DDR 333
memory, 160 GB SATA HDD * 2, including shock absorption
HDD bracket.
- PCI: Video capture card capable of real time MPEG 4 format
encoding
- Wireless LAN: GPRS/GSM for transmitting the audio/video.
- Ruggedized Enclosure: Water proof, shock, vibration, dust,
and EMI resistant
- +12V DC Power Supply, and optional battery backup function
- Serial Ports: Alarm I/O, GPS module, and motion detection
sensors.
- Compact Flash Socket: Support Type II CF up to 2 GB
- USB 2.0: Support multiple cameras input
- IR Port: IR remote control
- Watchdog Timer
Service & products provided
For Mobile DVR application, Acrosser recommends AR-B1760,
5.25” P-M embedded board which has all the features required
for the current configuration. In terms of hardware, Acrosser
worked with its partners to provide major components including
the video capture card, newly design enclosure, +12V DC
power supply, and backup battery; and peripherals such as
memory, HDD, GPRS modem, motion detection sensors, and GPS
module. Moreover, Acrosser also configures and integrates
the complete system for the customer.
For software, Acrosser engineering staff
worked with the customer not only to integrate various drivers
and application software on XPE platform, but to resolve
all the compatibility problems. Therefore, Acrosser not
only provides professional consultation regarding the system
configuration, as well as the quality products and peripherals,
but assists the customer with the system integration in
both hardware and software; in other words, the ideal and
complete solution to the customers.
